ARRESTED HIS WIFE
Policeman Sued On Tivo Counts VIENNA, December 9. When a policeman arrested a woman on a street comer, she cried in consternation: “But I’m your wife.” % “Never mind that.” the policeman replied, “you are under arrest for soliciting.” The woman was released due to lack of evidence. She went straight to court to file two suits against her husband, one for libel and another for divorce. “I am a decent saleswoman and I was on a business trip. My husband was just jealous and spied on me,” she told the judge. “She was on a business trip, but not a decent one,” said the policeman. The Judge ruled that the arrest was unwarranted and libellous, “because it was prompted by jealousy rather than a sense of duty.” The policeman was fined 500 schillings.
