Sharper Fall In Reserves
New Zealand’s overseas reserves fell £4.lm in the last week of November. At November 30, net overseas assets of the banking system totalled £15.2m, £ 17.6 m below the comparable 1959 figure. Since the seasonal peak in overseas reserves was reached at the ehd of June this year the reserves have dropped £ 43.5 m. This is the steepest decline since 1957, when the fall over the same period was £ 54.6 m.
