Boys’ High School The number of boys taking language courses at Christchurch Boys’ High School had fallen away and as the established science courses prevented a language option it was proposed to introduce. French as an alternative to geography in the fourth form science courses in 1961, said the headmaster (Mr C. F. S. Caldwell) at the school prize-giving ceremony in the Civic Theatre yesterday. Mr Caldwell said the roll numbers for 1960 had been 962, which was a reduction of 28 on the 1959 figure. It was estimated that the roll for 1961 would be approximately the same.
