POLICY OF CHINA

“Coexistence Supported” (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 10 p.m.) MOSCOW, December 8. The Chinese President, Mr Liu Shao-chi, told a cheering Chinese-Russian rally in Moscow today that China has a peaceful foreign policy and supports peaceful coexistence. “The Chinese Communist Party and the Communist Party of the Soviet Union are the two major parties in the international Communist movement,” Mr Liu said. Referring to the Communist manifesto issued on Monday, he said that it confirmed the Moscow declaration of 1957, summed up the development of the international situation in the last three years and threw light on many important questions. The Chinese Communist Party looked on the Chinese Communist revolution as a continuation of the Soviet October revolution, he said. President Brezhnev, of Russia, emphasising Ch |iese - Russian unity, said: “Our common foes are exerting a good deal of effort in order to clip the wings of our friends, to sow distrust between us and weaken our unity. Tn bourgeois circles there are not a few idle fabrications with regard to our unity, especially in connexion with the fact that the States of the Socialist camp are acting as a single front in the international arena.”

He quoted an earlier speech by Mr Khrushchev, who said that any imperialist attack against Communist China “will be considered an attack against our country.’’. He promised that the Chinese Nationalists would soon be removed from the United Nations.
