FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—Pressures are high to the south of the South Island, and .a trough of low pressure extends on to the North Island from the east. Forecast:— Marlborough and Nelson, except the Kaikoura coast.— Moderate to fresh south-east to east winds in Marlborough, light variable winds in Nelson; weather cloudy, with a few showers, mainly about the ranges; temperatures rather cool. Outlook: little change. West Coast.—Light to moderate variable winds; a few showers about the ranges in the north, otherwise partly cloudy, temperatures mild. Outlook: fine. Canterbury.—Moderate east to north-east winds; some cloudy areas about the coast, with areas of morning drizzle, otherwise partly cloudy; temperatures moderate. Outlook: little change.
