U.K. Press Regret At Gable’s Death
(N.Z. Press Association— LONDON, Nov. 20. Obituaries and commentators: in the British press this morning expressed deep regret at the death, of Clark Gable, the famous film' star, who died two days ago at 1 the age of 59. The dominant note was emphasis on the uniqueness of his personality. "Not a great actor, but a great personality, and a great star, he will be hard to replace,” “The Times” said. The “Daily Telegraph” portrayed him as a screen idol who stayed the course for a long time with undimmed and unaffected confidence, and ended its obituary with the words: "His image will be missed.”
