Red Flashing Signs
Sir, —Because “no other counties had followed suit” the Waimairi County Council has partially rescinded its sensible resolution forbidding red flashing signs. What a commentary on the New Zealander’s fear of being different! Red and green could well be reserved for traffic signals. These would then be more easily seen. Other colours are available for signs, flashing or still.—Yours, etc. J.K.L. November 18, 1960.
