Lyttelton Complaint
Sir, —Will the Town Clerk of Lyttelton explain why water (sewage), which has been running for months (or years) from a wall in Brittan terrace near Bundey’s corner has not been attended to? It would be interesting to know if the Health Department, Christchurch, intends to let this state of affairs continue now that it has taken over health and sanitation in Lyttelton.—Yours, etc., MOTHER OF FOUR. November 15, 1960. [The Lyttelton Town Clerk (Mr J. Thompson) comments: “Considerable efforts have been made to endeavour to locate the source of the seepage mentioned, so far without any success. The Health Department’s inspector has been notified. Further steps are being taken to find the cause of this seepage.”]
