TWO-YEAR-OLD PARADE

Lordship Records

Fast Time

Lordship, a candidate for the New Zealand Golden Slipper Stakes at Waimate next month, recorded the fastest time in three heats of a parade over seven furlongs for two-year-olds at Addington on Saturday. Lordship, a colt by Johnny Globe from Ladyship raced by Mrs D. G. Nyhan, whose husband trains him, set a hot pace, taking Imin 53sec for the distance, his last half-mile in Imin 2 l-sscc, and bis last quarter into the wind in 32 l-ssec. His effort was the equivalent of about 2min 9 l-ssec for one mile. Lordship won by about 84 yards from For Certain, a filly by Meadow Chief from Little Doubt owned and trained by W. R. Butt. A colt by Thunder On from Knapdale Lass trained by P. C. Williams finished third ahead of a piebald colt by Meadow Chief from Snowflake trained by L. F. Berkett.

Consistent. a gelding by Meadow Chief from Lady Gamble trained by C. R. Berkett gained a decisive win in the first heat, recording 2min 3-ssec for the seven furlongs, the last half-mile in Imin 4 4-ssec. and the last quarter in 32 l-ssec. Siki fZancara-Moongold) came, home solidly for second, ahead of Golden Sari (Braman—Golden Treasure), with a filly by Captain Adios from Roydon Derby (the dam of Beau Clair and Pierette) next

Adioson, a brother to Adioway, was too good for his rivals in the third heat and he won by five lengths after taking 2min Isec for the seven furlongs, the last halfmile in Imin 3 l-ssec. Adioson looks a likely type and his meeting with Lordship at Waimate should be most interesting. Ruling Caste (Brahman—Riviera) finished solidly for second, ahead of Sara Black (Johnny Globe—Girl Black) and a filly by My Chief from Rosehaxen.
