KRAMER’S TERMS FOR TOUR

Wellington Association Suggests Acceptance (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 20. The Wellington Lawn Tennis Association has written to the New Zealand association expressing its view that the conditions set down by Jack Kramer for his professional tour of the country in the New Year should be accepted. The national body decided last week to press for a 55-45 split of the proceeds instead of the 60-40 set down by Kramer. The letter from the Wellington association says: "In our view your committee had already obtained considerable concessions from Mr Kramer and these are probably as much as can reasonably be expected in any one year. "Also, whilst fully appreciating and concurring in the strong line which has been taken, and which in any case we ourselves have always pressed for, we feel we should mention that we anticipate opening our booking plan for this fixture in just over a fortnight. "Under the circumstances, therefore, as far as this year’s tour is concerned, we would be prepared to accept a 60-40 split rather than at this late stage risk jeopardising the tour by insisting on a 55-45 arrangement.”
