RAIL ACCIDENT ON COAST
Board Of Inquiry Named (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. Nov. 20. A Railways Department board of inquiry has been set up to investigate and report on the collision between two goods trains between Stillwater and Brunner on November 11. This was announced today by the General Manager of Railways (Mr A. T. Gandell). The board, set up under the provisions of the Government Railways Act, 1949, will comprise Messrs F. R. Murray (transportation superintendent), R. F. Black (chief mechanical engineer), C. Clark (chief civil engineer), J. W. H. Dowdall (an en-gine-driver, of Greymouth), and J. G. Murphy (a shunter, of Greymouth). Mr Murray will be the chairman.
