Downs- in -1955. - Assisted by two galloping pacemakers, 'Adios Butler paced his first quarter in 29sec and the second in 27 2-ssec, making his first half-mile 56 2-ssec. He took 58 l-ssec for his final half-mile, the last quarter in 29sec. Trotting critics have claimed for more than 12 months that Adios Butler was the horse most likely to lower the mile record. He will contest the 75,000 dollar Pacing Championship in California and then be retired for the season. It is possible that he will make another attempt to lower the record next year as a five-year-old. The leading United States three-year-old, Bullet Hanover, also made an attempt on the record. He failed, but his Imln 55 3-ssec for the mile was outstanding and by far the best by a horse of his age. Both Adios Butler and Bullet Hanover are sons of Adios. As a result of their efforts record high prices' are predicted for Adios colts at the Harrisburg sales in November. It is predicted that they will average more than 30,000 dollars each.
