ARTILLERY UNITS’ EXERCISES
Week-End Training The 32nd battery, a territorial unit, will be spending this weekend at Oxford, and the regular force battery, the 183rd battery of the New Zealand Field Regiment. will be engaged in exercises at Tekapo. The territorial unit’s training will be on the movement of 25-pounders in jungle country, a continuation of similar exercises already carried out by the battery. The regular battery’s training will be on the role of artillery in more open country. The 163rd battery is a reconstructed unit from the regiment which served in Korea. Lieutenant-Colonel J. R. Spence (commandant of Papakura Camp) is visiting Tekapo for the exercises.
