REFRESHER COURSE SUCCESSFUL
Former Teachers “Back To Work” (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 14. The Wellington Education Board’s refresher course for former teachers, which ended today, proved most rewarding for the board—all 20 former teachers attending have announced their intention of returning to teaching. Several will start next Monday. The average age of those attending the course was 30 and mainly they were those whose family and other responsibilities were now lessening. They have had an average of four years' certificated teaching experience previously and one person had previously taught for 18 years. Several have expressed interest in permanent positions and others have requested relieving positions in the neighbourhood of their homes.
