November 29, 1960 VICTORIA UNIVERSITY OF WELLINGTON ADMISSION TO CLASSES IN SCIENCE SUBJECTS. 1961 All students wno Intend to enrol at Victoria University of Weilington, in 1961, and to attend clades in Science subjects and in Biology for 8.A.. are advised tnat it will be necessary for them to make application for admission to these classes. Application is not restricted to candidates for the B.Sc. degree, but must be made for any course which includes a Science subject or Biology for 8.A., e.g., B.A B.Conh, or LLB. Forms of application are obtainable on request from the Registrar, Victoria University of Wellington, Box 196, Wellington. These forms must be completed and returned by December 20, 1960. Different forms are required for students who are enrolling at a University for the first time, and for students who have previously enrolled. Applicants are therefore requested to state into which category they fall.

Students enrolling at the University for the first time and intending to advance to Stage 111 in a Science subject, may wish to obtain advice on their proposed courses. Students may visit the University for this purpose on Friday. December 16, 1960, to consult with the Head of the Department teaching the subject in which it is intended to advance to Stage 111. Students unable to attend on this date may arrange an appointment. The Departments of Botany and Geology would particularly like to see students proposing to advance in these subjects. L. O. The Library School, which is a division of the National Library Service, accepts University graduates in arts and science for its diploma Course lasting from 28th February to 24th November, 1961. The Course is the only fulltime Course In New Zealand training students for the library profession. Libraries provide a widening range of services to the general public, hospitals, schools, universities, government departments, research workers and industries. Students are trained in the basic professional skills requited to administer and develop such services. , Generous living allowances are paid to students, who are expected to give their full time to the work of the school.
