PUBLIC MOTICtS EYRE COUNTY COUNCIL PROPOSAL TO CLOSE ROAD TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC PURSUANT to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations. 1949. notice is hereby given that the Eyre County Council for the purpose of permitting the Pioneer Motor Club to conduct ordinary Club speed runs, subject to the approval of the Minister of Transport, proposes to close .the following road for ordinary vehicular traffic for the period indicated hereunder: — During the proposed period of closure the following provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic which would otherwise use the road:— Alternative routes are available along the Two Chain road. North Eyre road and Chapmans Boundary road or along Two Chain road. Ohoka road and Chapmans Boundary road. A permit will be issued to any essential user of the road during the period of closure. Any person objecting to the proposals is called upon to lodge notice of his objection and grounds thereof In writing before Friday, October 7, 1960. at the office of the Eyre County Council, Ohoka. The road proposed to be closed is the Waimakariri to Bennetts Highway (Tram road) between the Two Chain road and Chapmans Boundary road. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Halswell County Council to fix the levels of the roads described in the Schedule hereto pursuant to the provisions of Section 202 of the Counties Act, 1956. The proposed levels of the said roads are shown on a map prepared pursuant to Section 200 of the said Act which map is open for public inspection at the Office of the Halswell County Council, No. 3 Annex road, Spreydon, at any time during office hours. The Council will on the seventeenth day of November 1960, at 1 p.m. at the Council Chambers, Halswell road, Halswell, hear all objections to the proposed levels by persons affected thereby. All objections to the proposed levels must be addressed and forwarded to the Halswell County Council in writing not less than ten days before the 17th day of November, 1960.

PERMISSION TO LIGHT FIRES for essential purposes ONLY may be granted if weather conditions justify this, upon personal or written application at the Waimairi County Council Office, Cnr. Clyde and Jeffreys roads, Fendalton, N.W.2, advising the extent and area of the burning required and the date or dates on which it is desired to bum. Each written permit is issued subject to confirmation by telephone on the day selected, just before lighting any essential fire.
