Country Women Seek Investigation

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 2. A thorough investigation of undertakers’ charges is sought by the Federation of New Zealand Country Women’s Institutes. At its conference today it passed a remit that the Government be asked to send a case to the Trade Practices Commission for such an investigation. Other remits carried included:— “That the Minister of Industries and Commerce be asked to have the date when manufactured and when packed printed on the packets of all sausages and other perishable commodities which are sold in plastic parcels at shops and milk bars.” “That it be compulsory to have either paper towels or hygienic towelling in all public conveniences.” “That members view with alarm the advertisements offering and encouraging any credit terms to juniors, and that any such purchases be subject to parents’ written approval”
