Big Slug
A Stokes Valley resident was startled at the week-end when he discovered what he thought must be the father of all slugs—a four inch long specimen with a knobbly green-black back. slithering through his garden on its long wide foot. The giant slug was identified at the Dominion Museum as a New Zealand bush slug, found in Stokes Valley, Wainuiomata and the hills east of Eastbourne, by Dr. J. C. Yaldwyn, a museum zoologist. “Some grow up to six inches in length when stretched out to move over the ground,” he said
