“LAST DITCH” IN AFRICA
“No Further Inch To Be Given” fNJZ. Press Association —Copyright) JOHANNESBURG, July 27. Whites in Africa are now in the 'Mast ditch,” the pro-Government South African newspaper, "Die Vaderland.” said today. Commenting on the Rhodesian riots, it said the determination of the Government there to avoid a “second Congo” had put new courage into South African whites who had been written off by defeatist elements overseas. “There is no further inch to be given by the whites to the extremists,” the newspaper said. “It is good that leaders like Dr. Verwoerd (South Africa’s Prime Minister) are not prepared to flee the last ditch stand by white civilisation.”
