PERISHABLE FRUIT SALES
Watch On Restrictions Wanted Canterbury stone fruitgrowers want the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation, Ltd., to watch any restriction on the sale of perishable fruit. This is recommended in one of three remits on the sale of fresh fruit, to be presented to the annual conference of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation, Ltd., to be held in September, Eamscleugh fruitgrowers want the Government to place fresh fruit on the exempted goods list under the Shops and Offices Act. Poverty Bay fruitgrowers will ask,the federation to make further representations to the Exempted Goods Committee about the sale of fresh fruit during week-ends and on holidays. Another remit, from Teviot fruitgrowers, requests an increased tariff on imported canned stone fruit so that local manufacturers can compete econonjicaUy.
