FARM IMPROVEMENT CLUB
Waiting List At Lauriston
The Lauriston Farm Improvement Club, the first organisation of its type in the South Island, is to have its own advisory officer from the beginning of September. Since its inception in 1956 the club’s advisory service has been provided by the farm management and rural valuation department at Canterbury Agricultural College. The club now has a waiting list for membership. At the annual* meeting of the club the chairman, Mr R. JDunkley, reported that its present advisory officer, Mr Peter M. Falconer, who is a field officer in the farm management and rural valuation department at Lincoln, was to be employed by the club on a full-time basis. Mr Dunkley said that the club would become an independent society With its increasing membership it would also be employing Mr G. D. Green, an Ashburton accountant, as its secretarytreasurer and the club would be centred on Ashburton.
