Three premises were entered in different parts of Christchurch on Thursday night, but the only things stolen were an 111 b savoury meat loaf, some saveloys, and a butcher's knife. The theft occurred at Good’s Butchery, at the corner of Wairakei and Greers roads, where a fanlight was forced open to gain entry Juveniles are thought to bi. responsible. Half the savoury meat loaf, some of the saveloys, the knife, and a few sacks were found by a detective yesterday morning on the footpath not far from the shop. Intruders entered W. R. Inwood's joinery works, at 42 Wordsworth street, by forcing a rear door, but although gear was disturbed in a workshop, nothing is known to have been stolen.
The premises of A. R Guthrey. Ltd., at 355 Moorhouse avenue, were also entered, but again nothing is known to have been stolen.
