NEW PROCEDURE OUTLINED
Goods Affected By Tariff Changes (New Zealand Press Association) WEUJNGTpN, July 28. The procedures to be followed in dealing with some of the goods affected by tariff changes introduced after presentation of the Budget were detailed today by the Minister of Customs (Mr Boord'. “It will be recalled,” he said, “that I drew attention to the fact that provision had been made in some of the amended tariff items for protection to be afforded to New Zealand industries and, on the other hand, for relief from those protective duties in respect of particular classes of goods not produced in this country. “In the exercise of the new 'determination’ • and ’approval’ procedure, I have arranged that where application for relief from protective duties, or application for protective duty, is made under tariff items where these procedures are provided for, the applications will be the subject of a ‘tariff notice' to be Inserted in the Gazette by the Comptroller of Customs.
“AH applications should be lodged with the Collector of Customs for the applicant's district,”
