MAINBODY REUNION
First World War Men To Meet What may be the last Dominion reunion of the men who left New Zealand on October 14, 1914, as the Main Body of the Ist N.Z.EJF. will be held in Christchurch on October 15, 16,. and IT this year. It will be the last to be held in Christchurch, which was the host city for the last Dominion reunion, in 1950. “They’re all getting a little old now to be travelling far,” said one of the organisers yesterday. The organisers expect that about 300 old comrades will meet, but they will not know until enrolments close on August 31. When they meet on the Saturday the men will be given a civic reception and morning tea by the Christchurch City Council, then have a scenic drive in the afternoon before a dinner in King Edward Barracks. There will be church parades and a picture evening bn the Sunday; and the third day will be a “barracks’’ day for calling of the roll and private reunions, helped by luncheon and refreshment.
