Maintenance Fitter Found Dead
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 28. A maintenance fitter employed by the Auckland Gas Company was found dead inside a flat at 45 Esplanade road. Mount Eden, today. He was: Walter James Short, aged 60. single, of Ponsonby. Mr Short had gone to the flat to repair a faulty appliance. Ambulance officers used an oxygen resuscitator in an attempt to revive him.
