SOUTH AFRICAN VETERANS
Rooms Lost Through Fire About £5OO worth of damage was done to relics in the headquarters of the South African War Veterans’ Association when water leaked through the ceiling of the association’s rooms in the “Sim” building during the fire on Wednesday night. An appeal to any owner of premises the association could lease was made by the president (Mr R. Hayes) yesterday. Mr Hayes said the association needed a room as central as possible and large enough to contain two billiard tables, which were undamaged. Mr Hayes will take the relics to his home for safe-keeping until a storeroom can be found tor them. "We would appreciate any asrtstance.” said the secretary (Mr J. A. Gregor). Anyone who is able to help the association can get in touch with Mr Hayes at 11 Kershaw place, or with Mr Gregor at 400 Pages road. .
