Repairs To Building Completed

The reconstructed post office at Hawarden which was severely damaged by fire on January 21 will reopen for business today. The Chief Postmaster (Mr R. Elcock) said yesterday that post office tradesmen had done an excellent job of restoration, several improvements having been incorporated in the rebuilt premises. The rear portion of the building, consisting of the postmaster’s living quarters, was the worst affected by the fire and has been demolished. A separate residence has been found for the postmaster immediately opposite. “The post office is most grateful to Scott’s Garage, Ltd., in whose premises business has been , conducted in the meantime,” said Mr Elcock. z
