Honey Production Increases
Apiary production for the year ended March 31, 1960, is estimated at 5800 tons of honey and 203.0001 b of commercial beeswax, according to the annual report of the Department of Agriculture.
This is about 2114 tons of honey and 70,9401 b of beeswax mere than the-previous year. Production in the coastal areas of South Canterbury and Canterbury was. however, seriously reduced by dry and windy weather and crops ranged from poor to below average, the report says.
