Obituary Mrs Norman Williams
For upwards of 40 years a devoted worker for St. Peter’s •Church, Upper Riccarton, Mrs Janet Inglis Williams was this week buried in the churchyard. Mrs Williams was known not only for her piety but for her humility. She was most prominent in the Mothers’ Union at St. Peter’s Church. A daughter of Mr Boon, a chemist in the early days at Riccarton who later was in business at Nelson, Mrs Williams was married to Mr Norman R. Williams, now the organist of St. Barnabas' Church, Fendalton, 52 years ago at Nelson. They lived for many years in Middleton road. One of Mr Williams’s sons, Emsley, died when he was a home missionary. Another son, Basil, is rector at Wollongong, Australia, and a third soni Eionaid (who was In the building trade, before his ordination) is now vicar at Granity. Her daughters are Mrs C. M. Muir (Taihape) and Mrs S. Brockett (Hawarden).
