PANEL DISCUSSION BY ASSOCIATION
Sculpture And Modern Buildings
A forum to discuss questions sent in by members on subjects relating to architecture and the allied arts and sciences was held at the monthly meeting of the Christchurch Architectural Association
Members of the panel and the audience discussed the relationship of sculpture to modern buildings and the respective functions of architects and engineers employed on local bodies. The attitude of the State to the planning and general design of domestic buildings was also discussed. The panel consisted of: Mr L. Holmes (consulting engineer); Mr E. J. Doudney (sculpture), and Mr H. J. Simpson (design), both senior lecturers at the School of Art. University of Canterbury; Mr P. J Beaven (architect); and Mr N. D. Hardie (consulting engineer).
