Derailment Attempts Near Tokoroa
(New Zealand Press Association) ROTORUA, July 21. Tokoroa police are investigating suspected attempts to derail goods trains running between Okoroa and KmJeith. According to Constable I. Patterson, there have been several recent instances of objects being placed on the rails. A stone was also found between a set of points. The latest incident was on Tuesday. when a 601 b lump of steel had to be lifted from the track to permit the passage of the 7.58 p.m. Tokoroa-Kinleith goods train On the return journey at 9.20 pun. the driver had again to stop and remove heavy pieces of stone which lay across the track at about the same spot.
