£700 FROM CITY SHOW
Handicapped Children Benefit
The Intellectually Handicapped Children Parents’ Association will benefit by more than £7OO from the recent “Tex” Morton Show in Christchurch. Mr W. M. Rumbold, secretary of the association, said yesterday that more money might be received as some of the receipts had not yet been forwarded. The association was to receive half of the net receipts from the show. All expenses were paid by “Tex” Morton, who took the other half of the net proceeds, said Mr Rumbold. “This substantial sum raised will materially help us in our work,” he said. Mr Rumbold said the committee of the association wished to sincerely thank all the ' firms and individuals who had advertised in the brochure or had given newspaper advertisements, and to the Christchurch public for attending the show in such large numbers.
