“EVERLASTING FRIENDSHIP”
All Blacks Meet Non-Whites (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) CAPE TOWN, July 21. New Zealand's Rugby team, appearing on stage at Cape Town’s City Hall last night, was assured of the “everlasting friendship” of the non-whites of South Africa by Mr Tab! Khondker patron of the Montrose (non-white) Rugby Club. The All Blacks were given a tremendous ovation as they came on the stage in front of 1500 people, and their choral rendering of a Maori folk song was greeted with wild applause. Accepting a gilded mirror in the shape of a Rugby ball from the Montrose club, the All Blacks* assistant manager, .Mr J. Sullivan, said it would be given an honoured place in the Rugby world of New Zealand. *
