Formal Bid From Westons (New Zealand Fees* Association) WELLINGTON. July 21. Shareholders of Denhard Bakeries, Ltd., Wellington, have received from George Weston (New Zealand), Ltd., Auckland, a formal offer to buy their shares. As previously announced, the offer is 48s for each of the ordinary or B ordinary shares, and 32s for each of the preference shares. Ths offer is subject to acceptance by holders of not less than 90 per cent of the shares of each class by August 10. George Weston (New Zealand). Ltd., however, reserve the right to accept a leaser percentage or to extend the time for acceptance. Other Offer Forewarding the offer to shareholders, the chairman of Denhard Bakeries, Ltd. (Mr A. C. Davis), says: “Your directors understand that Mr T. A. G. Scott is at present seeking approval of the Capital Issues Committee to float a company which he hopes will be able to make a higher offer for your shares than that made by George Weeton (New Zealand), Ltd.
“Your directors feel, however, that no firm offer having yet been received . from Mr Soott, they must, in the meantime, carry out their duty of transmitting Weston's offer to you without any delay.”
