Cuba Supports O.A.S. Meeting
(NJZ. Press Association—Copyright) WASHINGTON, July 18. Cuba today joined a unanimous vote by the Organisation of American States to call an interAmerican Foreign Ministers’ meeting to consider “threats” to democracy and unity in the Hemisphere. Cuba announced It would agree to the emergency meeting, proposed by Peru, but the Republic’s attendance would “necessarily depend on its agenda and site.” Peru’s call was cast in general terms, but it was generally regarded as covering threats by the Soviet Union to support Cuba in differences with the United States.
