SELECTORS MEET ON SUNDAY
New Zealand Team For Tahiti (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. July 20. 7%e New Zealand soccer selectors. Messrs J. G. Shankie (Wellington) convener, G. Smith (Christchurch) and R. Speed (Auckland), will meet in Christchurch on Sunday afternoon to select the New Zealand team to visit Tahiti in September.
Each selector has a Saturday assignment, Mr Speed will attend the Chatham Cup elimination match between North Shore and Rotorua at Rotorua. Mr Shankie will go to Dunedin for the final between Northern (Dunedin) and the Southland winners, and Mr Smith will be in Wellington to watch Northern play Seatoun in the Wellington final, ana to see New Zealand candidates in the curtain-raiser between Miramar Rangers and Petone. The team, when chosen, will be submitted to the chairman of the New Zealand Football Association Council. Mr J. Kershaw, in Wellington.
