Repatriation In North (NX. Preet Aeeoctation—Coptrnoht) NEW YORK. July 18. South Vietnam wae threatening reprisals against France for having approved the repatriation of thousands ot Vietnmnese in New Paledomie end the New Hebrides to Communist North Vietnam, American Associated Press reported today from Sei•on. The Comcminists were claiming AllutfWC victory - that had set two more American allies feuding. American Aseocaeted Press said. South Korea and Jbpen ware at odds over a repatriation programme that had reeulted in thousands of Koreans in Japan, going to North Korea. Under an agreement France and North Vietnam signed on June 4, the repatriation programme was due to begin on September 1. The South Vietnamese Minister ot Information, Mr Tran Chanh Thanh, warned that if Siagon’s protest wae unheeded, “other measures” would be taken against France. He did not say what these' steps would be, but the French were concerned over possible steps against French interests in South Vietnam. There were 6000 Vietnamese involved in the dispute. They included the families ot about 90 workers recruited before World Wiar n in North Vietnam for rubber plantations and nickel mines in the French islands.
