Wood, may also feature in the men’s A team. Other leading Timaru players, G. Black, D. McKenzie. C. McFarlane and M. McFarlane, should be seen in action in either the A team or the B team. The Canterbury men’s A team will be led by D. D. M. Stewart, who is having a successful season in inter-club play. M. A. Cox. with recent wins over J. Armstrong and J. L. Catto, has earned his place in the team, and in the bottom bracket will be the experienced representative player J. A. Dowie and J. Leiliott.

In the women’s matches the presence of Miss J. Williamson should give Canterbury an advantage. Miss Williamson vPill be playing her first match for the province this season, as her playing in the international matches against the Japanese team has deprived Canterbury of her services on previous occasions.

Mrs T. May, a finalist in three events at the recent South Island championships, will fill second position in the Canterbury team. Lt the lower half will be Miss Y. Hart, aged 19, a very promising player, making her first appearance for Canterbury, and Miss J. Ward-Holmes. Miss Hart, from Malvern, played very well in the Town-Country match earlier in the season.
