PUBLIC NOTICES WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE AND LEVY RATES, YEAR 1960-61. PURSUANT to the provisions of the "Rating Act 1925,*' and the "Counties Act, 1956,” and subsequent amendments, PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Waimairi County Council has prepared and approved the following Estimates of Income and Expenditure for the period commenced on the Ist day of April, 1960, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1961: 1. INCOME: £ a. Motor Drivers' Licences, Building and other miscellaneous licences and fees .. 14,000 b. Commission, Sale of Trees, Rents, etc. .. 36,157 c. National Roads Board Subsidy .. .. 44,347 d. Outstanding Rates, etc. .. .. 23,628 Amount required from General Rates .. 102,647 220,779 2. EXPENDITURE: a. Administration, salaries. Printing and Stationery, Postages, Telephones, General Office Expenses, etc. 36,571 b. Other items of a general nature, including Fire Protection, Maintenance of Buildings, Reserves. Refuse Pits, Grants, etc. .. .. 20,235 c. Contributions t o Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Board, Canterbury Museum, Regional Planning Authority and Riccarton Bush .. .. 13,715 d. Separate Accounts— Street Lighting Burnside Road Memorial ' Highway, Bridge Maintenance and County Roads .. •• 32,105 e. NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that for the purpose of meeting the additional amount required of £102,647 it is the intention of the Waimari County Council at the expiration of fourteen (14) days from the date of this notice, to make and levy General Rates on the rateable capital value of all the rateable properties in the several Ridings of the County, as follows: Styx .. .85375 Marshland •. .83043 Belfast .. .89267 Harewood .. .71417 Papanui .. .78859 Wairarapa .. .70329 Fendalton .. .67466 Middleton .. .74133 4. FURTHER NOTICE IS GIVEN pursuant to the provisions of the “Counties Act, 1956,” the ‘•Health Act, 1956,” and the "Rating Act, 1925,” that at the expiration of fourteen (14) days from the date of this notice, it is the intention of the Waimairi County Council to make and levy Sanitation Fee, Separate Rates and Rates on behalf of other Local Authorities as follows: a. Under the provision of Section 115 of the “Counties Act, 1956,” a uniform annual fee of £2 12s in respect of each pan contained in closets and privies upon such properties in the County that have a house or houses erected thereon, and are liable for such fee: b. Under the provisions of the "Local Authorities Loans Act. 1956,” a Special Rate of .03334 d (pence) in the £ (pound) on all rateable properties within a defined area of the Papanui Riding to provide for the Annual charges on the North Papanui Channelling Redemption Loan; •.Under the provisions of Section 118 of the "Counties Act, 1956,” Water Rates as follows: I. On all lands and dwelling houses to which water is supplied, a Rate of .306 d (pence) in the £ (pound) on Capital Value, provided that if the rate would produce less than one pound in respect of any such land or dwelling house, a rate of not more than one pound may be made and levied. 11. On all lands and dwelling houses to which water can be, but is not supplied, situated within one hundred yards of any part of the waterworks, a Rate not exceeding half of the rates mentioned in paragraph (a) above.

d. Such other rates as are ] fixed and levied by Special Resolution of the fol- 1 lowing Local Authorities:— i Christchurch Drainage 1 Board 1 Christchurch Transport Board. North Canterbury Catchment Board. The whole of the above rates, including the sanitation fee to be for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1960, and ending on the ■ 31st day of March, 1961, and ‘ shall be payable in one sum at the office of the Waimairi County Council, corner Clyde , and Jeffreys roads, on the 15th day of August, 1960, and ' to be subject to a penalty of ten per cent (10%) additional if not paid within six (6) months and fourteen (14) : days from date of demand ' thereof.
