Exchange Rate Speculation
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 6. There is considerable speculation concerning possible revaluation of the German Deutschmark by the Bundesbank in the near future, according to the National Bank of New Zealand. As a consequence, the forward premium has increased quite appreciably recently, and despite the ban on the payment of inrestriction recently imposed to deter the inflow of funds —money has continued to gush into Germany at an astounding rate. It is reported that during the eight days to June 15, more than 140 million dollars were transferred there, the bank says.
