NX Distributors’ New Status

The Dominion Motors, Ltd, distributors of Rolls Royce in New Zealand, will.in future act independently of Rolls Royce Australia (Pty.), Ltd., and will be associated directly with the parent company in England. This was announced in Christchurch yesterday by Mr F. Roberts, representing Rolls Royce Australia, on the eve of his return to Australia. The Dominion Motors sells, services or supplies parts for diesel oil engines which power a number of earth - moving machines, road graders, marine vessels. ' electricity generators, shunting locomotives, pneumatic compressors, tractors and carryall trucks. “The new arrangement will enable the Dominion Motors to conduct a greater degree of assembly work in New Zealand, and we understand that the company will announce plans related to this in due course,” said Mr Roberts. In addition, provision has been made for the supply of parts to the International Harvester Company of New Zealand, which has incorporated a Rolls Royce engine in one of its latest model crawler tractors. “We in Australia regard the direct relationship of the Dominion Motors, Ltd., with Rolls Royce, England, as a tribute to the pertinacity of the Government in its plans for the development of industry in New Zealand,” Mr Roberts said.
