Arms 1 alks At Geneva

The East-West disarmament conference in Geneva is on the verge of collapse as the result of Russian accusations that the United States and its allies are deliberately sabotaging the talks. The Russians made the allegations after a meeting this morning during which no delegation from either East or West sought the floor, and which adjourned after only four minutes. British United Press reported. This was the first time since the conference began on March 15 that there were no speakers. The Western delegations plainly are waiting for the return from Washington of the chief United States delegate (Mr Frederick Eaton) in the hope that he will be able to give them a lead In the meantime, they consider the Russians ought to reply to various questions put to them on their disarmament plans. But the Communists, in a statement issued jointly after today’s brief sessions, claimed they had “explained the substance of the new Soviet proposals . . and have replied to a number of questions of the Western representatives.”

Nazi Rally Banned.— The American Nazi Party today was refused permission to hold a rally in New York’s Union square. The party's application was rejected by the Mayor of New York (Mr Robert Wagner), who said that Mr G. I. Rockwell, the party’s commander, would not be permitted to speak in New York on July 4. the date of the proposed rally, or at any other time, “in terms of race hatred and race extermination.”—(New York, June 22).
