Seamen’s Gift To Spastics
Seamen and firemen of the intercolonial ship Waimate have handed the sum of £8 9s to the Lyttelton branch office of “The Press” for the spastic children centre, Christchurch. The Waimate is to pay off her crew at Wellington and the amount is the balance in the seamen’s and firemen’s social fund. A cheque for the amount has been forwarded to the Cerebral Palsy School, Worcester street, where there are 27 spastic children.
