TRAVEL CLUB MEETING
Dominion President Entertained
A visitor to the Canterbury Travel Club, yesterday, was the Dominion president of the Federation of Travel Clubs (Mrs B. L. Blodorn, of Timaru). Mrs Blodorn, is also president of the South Canterbury Travel Club. ‘"Travel clubs are most popular and successful in New Zealand,” she said. “But there are only two in the North Island, compared with six in the South. At the recent biennial conference in Wellington, it was suggested that contact be made in more North Island centres with the idea of forming more clubs in the future.”
Mrs Blodorn was elected Dominion president at that meeting and during her two-year term of office will visit all travel clubs in New Zealand.
Also present at yesterday’s meeting were the president of the Dunedin Travel Club (Mrs Vera E) and a mernUer of her ve committee “(Mrs Hugh ;).', Representatives from outh < Canterbury Travel 'ere among the guests. A, Benzie welcomed those Tfad introduced the guest artfst (Mr Donald Jack) who sang three Solos, accompanied by Mrs Mabel Season. Mrs Read Masters proposed-* the vote of thanks.
