Cash Issue Soon

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 20.

The United Empire Box Company, Ltd., proposes to make a cash issue soon. The amount and terms of the issue have not yet been determined. They are subject to the consent of the Capital Issues Committee. The directors announced this today. They said that, subject to audit, profit for the year to March 31, 1960, was slightly more than for the previous period, which covered 12 months for the United group, but 15 months for the Empire group. The results were considered very satisfactory. Referring to the take-over bid for Gillman Packaging, Ltd., they said that acceptances had been received from shareholders representing 98.27 per cent of the ordinary and 95 per cent of the preference shares. Included in the amalgamation of interests are the Wellington Cardboard Box Company, Ltd., Wellington, Alex Service, Ltd., Auckland, and Tristan Packaging, Ltd., Christchurch.
