INVESTMENT IN AUSTRALIA
Confidence In U.K., U.S. (N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) SYDNEY, June 20. Australia’s stocks in Britain and the United States were higher than ever and were still rising rapidly, Mr Robert Menzies, the Australian Prime Minister, said today on his return from visits to London and Washington. He told a news conference that in London, Australia was accepted as the Commonwealth country in which opportunities for investment were unrivalled. In the United States, the business world was enthusiastic about the strength and resilience of the Australian economy and the opportunities Australia offered for co-operative effort in development. Mr Menzies said he believed large-scale investment from both nations would continue indefinitely.
