GUARD OF HONOUR AT OPENING

R.N.Z.A.F. Boy Entrants

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 20.

One hundred boy entrants from the Royal New Zealand Air Force Boy Entrant School, Woodbourne, were flown across Cook Strait today in a Hastings aircraft to provide the guard of honour for the opening of Parliament on Wednesday. They will be under the command of Flight Lieutenant D. McKeon, of Wellington. The Air Force will also provide a fly-past of Canberra jet bombers for the opening of Parliament, and the band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force will be in attendance.

The Queen’s Colour of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, which was presented to the service during the Royal tour in 1954, will be paraded by officers and men of Te Rapa station, near Hamilton, who will provide the Colour escort squadron.
