Armstrong-Jones Effigy Found In Phone Box

LONDON, June 20. The wax effigy of Mr Antony Armstrong-Jones, stolen from the Madame Tussaud’s waxwork exhibition in London, was found early this morning in a telephone kiosk, by a policeman who thought it was a drunk.

The life-size, 11-stone waxwork of Princess Margaret’s husband was found by a policeman. It disappeared on Friday from its place beside the model of Princess Margaret News that the model had been stolen was first made known to toe public when Princess Margaret and her husband arrived home from their Caribbean honeymoon on Saturday. The witness, a 69-year-old newspaper seller named Archie Rankin. said:-“Jtut on seven o’clock there was a big cream car . . - I think it was one of them Jaguar things . . . parked slap opposite me. "All of a sudden three characters steamed out of the exist (from Madame Tussaud’s) carrying one of the waxworks dummies. Laughing their *eads off they was “Anyway I see this figure in evening clothes they’re carrying I didn’t recognise it was Tony Armstrong-Jones partly on account of 1 ain’t never seen the gent and anyhow, *e *ad no *ead on. “The three toffs—l reckon they was mates of his—chuckpd him fate the back of the car. They all giggle like; ruddy schoolgirls and roared off down the road.”
