RUN OVER BY CAR

Man Lying On Road

A man was run over by a car in Wilsons road early on Saturday after he had fallen from his bicycle. He is Jack Forbes Rosewarn, aged 52, a painter, of 71 Bamford street, Woolston.

He was taken by a St John ambulance to the Christchurch Hospital and was admitted suffering from head, arm, and internal injuries and shock. His condition was reported last evening as fairly satisfactory. According to a member of the motor accident branch at the Central Police Station, Mr Rosewarn fell from his bicycle in Wilsons road just south of Stevens street It is understood that a car driven by John Berfleld Galland. aged 42, of 7 McCombs street, Spreydon, was travelling south along Wilsons road when Mr Galland saw an object on the road. He did not have time to stop and felt a bump. He went back and found Mr Rosewarn lying on the road.
