FIRE DESTROYS WOOLSHED
Damage Estimated At £2600 t A (New Zealand Press Assoetafinl AUCKLAND, June 19. A woolshed valued at £ISBK wool worth more than £lOO ant a power plant worth about £509 were destroyed by a fire which broke out in a sheep station owned by Mr C. D. Stone, of Waikawau, near Tapu, Thames, on Saturday night All the property was insured. Mr Stone said it Is thought the fire was caused by a fault in the power plant “We were sitting having dinner when the power failed,’’he said. “I thought it must be some sort of a fault in the plant which I could not rectify so we went to bed. Shortly afterwards my son, David, saw flames in the woolshed. The Thames Fire Brigade arrived promptly, but the shed soon became a total loss.” * Friday morning Mr Stone finished shearing 800 ewes and the wool was still in the shed.
